Scarlet and Gray

The best thing about the Spring Game is that many people, especially kids, get to experience a Buckeyes game that may not normally get to. This year was no exception. It was Molly's first game day and the first Buckeye football game for our nieces; Jenna & Jessi (see pics below) and our nephew, Jason. We all had a blast & feel very fortunate that we got to spend it together!

Molly was a trooper especially since it was naptime. Once we got to our seats, in the shade, she hung out with Daddy for a minute or two but was ready to lay down and relax. She enjoyed hanging out on the bleacher, but needed to hold onto Daddy just for reassurance. Finally sleep won and Molly spent the majority of the first half sacked out on the bench. Gotta love our little girl who can take a nap on a hard bench, during a Buckeyes game surrounded by screaming fans.

Summer Do's

Although Molly's hair inspires many comments from perfect strangers it has been quite the source of agony for me. At the beginning it wouldn't lay down for anything until I discovered that lotion was equivalent to baby hair gel. Then as it grew on the top and began to lay down, the bald spot started to form in the back. To top it off, Molly will be forever cursed with her Daddy's cowlick that causes the hair along her neckline to grow horizontally. Lets pray that the side ponytail returns for her sake!

The beautiful weather and the fun outfits inspired me to try to do something fun with Molly's hair. On Saturday she sported the pigtail look, no matter how tiny they were (you may have to look closely or even get out your magnifying glass!).

And then today for Church we tried something else. Please don't think I'm cruel to my child, she just sits there while I brush and put the 'pretty' in. Trust me, if she even so much as winced, she'd still have the lotioned comb over!

Random Pics

Here are some pics that I had good intentions to blog about, but returning to work has thrown a kink into my time! So, I hope you enjoy these pictures and the somewhat witty captions.

What can you say? Time to introduce the infant comb over?

Easter fun with Carlie, my great-niece! No, that isn't a typo.....I do have a great-niece.

The traditional Easter Egg Hunt count and yell.
The kids rush back to the living room to open their eggs and count their winnings while listening for the screech of the cousin who opens an egg to find a twenty dollar bill inside!

Our princess.....even though at times she thinks she's the queen. I try to explain to Molly that there's only room for one queen in the Wendel house and that position is already taken!

Infant double fisting!

So the story goes

like this: Molly and I are playing. We're having fun and sharing lots of smiles.

Then Mommy tells Molly that she'll be going back to work soon.

Well, it didn't go exactly like that. Mommy keeps telling Molly that she'll be returning to work and the tears that are shed are almost always (well lets be honest; always) Mommy's. But its a necessity and I've been fortunate to get 14 uninterrupted weeks with my daughter and look forward to a summer with both Molly & Alec!

Go Dogs!

My high school made it to the Ohio High School Boys Final Four last week. The last Ada High School boys team to make it this far was in the 1920s!

My family came down for lunch and then we all ventured to the Schott sporting our purple and gold to cheer on the mighty Bulldogs. No matter how much we yelled or silently prayed, the boys, try as they might, couldn't buy a basket. Needless to say, they lost to Oak Hill but we're still proud of the purple & gold.

Saturday Outing

We spent the day downtown at the Columbus Auto Show where Alec got to pet a baby kangaroo & sit in some of his dream cars. The kids were amazing and we had a blast just walking around enjoying the weather.
