Molly had her one year pictures taken today and luckily Alec went along to help make Molly smile.

Blessed

Lately we've been given the time to reflect on the blessings in our life. We are surrounded by a loving extended family; who we are separated by miles but technology allows us to be moments away. Who have provided us with unending support and love. We also are blessed with our "Columbus" family who are there in a moment's notice; to pick up the pieces.

And then there are our kids! There are hardly words, just look at these faces and you can see just how lucky we are. Take an moment tonight to give your loved ones an extra hug or an unexpected email, text, or phone call to let them know how much you love and appreciate them!

Daddy's Girls

Molly and her daddy have lots of fun together. Daddy can take the ordinary task of getting ready for bed and turn it into a game that solicits a room full of giggles. There is no relationship like that between a girl and her daddy; no matter the age.

Shake It

Molly is becoming quite the skilled headbanger (should we be concerned?). Please enjoy her show and excuse my singing!

What Happens

when you have an almost 11 month old who has been battling a double ear infection for 6 weeks, yes weeks, along with cutting her top two teeth?

Someone who's a little groggy; 4 hours worth of naps today after 12 hours of sleep last night and a little opinionated.

One who's so tired of me trying to get a peek at her teeth, tired of the doctors prodding around her throat and ears, and tired of taking medicine she often clamps her jaws shut.

But, there are moments when our Molly comes through and we see that this is a temporary state of mind. And how blessed we are!

Changes

The weather is turning cool, the leaves are falling, and Molly's independence is causing changes in our household.

To begin with, we must ensure that there are many books available at all times in all places! She loves books: big ones, small ones, magazines, newspapers, you name it. It certainly makes her mommy proud!

She is such a good "helper" in the kitchen! We now have to worry about hot stoves and sharp objects.

Molly's completely mobile and Alec learned the hard way that anything under 3 feet is fair game when Molly got into his school binder and began emptying it all over the living room!

And then today, Molly pulled up on the ottoman for the first time! Before long, she'll be cruising throughout the house.

Although these new discoveries don't allow us much down time anymore, we wouldn't have it any other way!

Mobility

Mobility has found the Wendel household in the form of a 10 month old little girl and Molly is loving it!

Please excuse the bedhead, Molly just woke up from a nap.

Trick or Treating

The neighborhood kids got together (well their parents got them together) for an evening of trick or treating. With a no-napper (Molly), a sicky (Natalie), and a wagon rider (Noah) we didn't last very long. But it was still fun and we're as thankful as ever to have such a great neighborhood family to make memories with.

She loves him no matter what!

What can be said about this crew?

Ready to throw in the towel.

He's Back

Mike left for New York on Friday and returned today. To say he was missed is an understatement. We're happy he had a good time and caught some awesome fish, but we're even more happy to have him home!

Pumpkin Pickin'

We went to a local farm for a hay ride, corn maze, pumpkin picking, and of course lots of quality family time; which we really needed.

Buckeye Saturday Night

We had some good friends over tonight to watch the Buckeyes beat the Hoosiers on the back of our house with the Wendel Jumbotron!

Molly's attire is courtesy of Aunt Sue (cheerleading outfit), Celia (black shirt) and Grandma Rosie (hair bow). It takes an army to get a look this good!

Three Quarters

Its hard to imagine that Molly was born 3/4 of a year ago, but on the other hand it feels like she's been a part of our family forever.

At her 9 month check up our ever growing girl was 28 1/2 inches long and weighed 20 pounds 9 ounces.

2 Steps Forward, 1 Step Back

In this first video Molly is trying to coax the turtle to come to her.

But once she decided to go for it, things didn't quite work out like she had hoped.

Please excuse the computer monitor....Mike is working on taking it to the crawl space :)

Talented

My sister, Teri, is an extremely talented photographer. To compliment this talent, she's also great with kids. Add these together and you get some amazing photos of an adorable nine month old little girl, well in our opinion at least!

There were some moments of unhappiness for Molly.

We all had lots of fun in the newly fallen leaves.

Molly was intrigued by the kitten walking towards her (but outside of the photo).

There was time for silliness!

And you can't do something on a Fall Saturday without sporting scarlet and gray!

Do What You Can Do

In an earlier post, I talked about a friend of our's daughter who is suffering from Batten's Disease. This weekend, The Book Loft is sponsoring an event to support Batten's Disease Support & Awareness. To learn more about the event please see this page. And if the only thing you can do to help is to say a prayer for Celia, we'll take it and I'm sure her family will be grateful!

And then there were 2

teeth.

The second one was much nicer coming in than the first. And boy are we thankful!
